Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Mewly is a social media scheduling tool operated at mewly.co by Mewly LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect when you use Mewly, how we use it, and your rights around it.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

  • Account data — your email address and password (hashed, never stored in plain text).
  • Content data — posts you draft or schedule inside Mewly.
  • Social account tokens — OAuth tokens issued by platforms (X, LinkedIn, etc.) when you connect an account. These are stored encrypted and used only to publish on your behalf.
  • Usage data — request logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) used for security and debugging, plus standard web analytics collected via cookies. See section 6.
  • Post performance data — engagement metrics (impressions, likes, comments, shares, clicks) retrieved from platforms for posts you published through Mewly.
  • Billing data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the Mewly service
  • To publish posts to social platforms on your schedule
  • To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your data. We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in section 4.

4. Third-party services

Mewly relies on the following services:

  • Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored in the EU (AWS eu-west-1) by default.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.
  • Hostinger — hosts the Mewly application. Every request you make to the service passes through it.
  • Resend — sends our transactional and notification emails. Receives your email address and the contents of those emails.
  • Anthropic — powers the AI writing assistant. If you use it, the draft text you are working on is sent to Anthropic to generate a suggestion. Anthropic's commercial terms prohibit training their models on this content, and we do not use it for training either.
  • Social platforms — when you connect an account, that platform's privacy policy also applies to data you post through it.

5. The API, MCP, and AI assistants

Mewly can be used through our REST API and through AI assistants that connect to our MCP server.

  • When an assistant acts on your behalf, what it sends us — captions, media, schedule times, and which accounts to post to — and what we return, such as post status and analytics, pass through our API. We handle that data exactly as we handle content you create in the app.
  • We only receive what the assistant sends to our tools. We never receive your conversation with the assistant.
  • Your use of the assistant itself is governed by that provider's privacy policy, not ours.
  • API keys are scoped to you and can be revoked at any time from your API settings.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We also load Google Tag Manager, which places analytics cookies recording standard web data — your IP address, browser type, device, and the pages you visit. We use this to understand how Mewly is used and to improve it. We do not sell what we collect.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax reasons.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at john@mewly.co.

For Facebook data removal requests, you can also visit our Facebook data deletion page.

9. YouTube API Services

Mewly uses YouTube API Services to publish to your channel. When you connect YouTube, we request permission to upload videos on your behalf, and your basic Google profile so we can show you which channel is connected. We use that access only to publish the posts you schedule.

By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Because we use YouTube API Services, Google's Privacy Policy also applies to that data.

You can revoke Mewly's access to your Google and YouTube data at any time from your Google security settings, or by disconnecting the channel inside Mewly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. If we make material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to let you know — by email or with a notice in the app.
